Science:
Science can be defined as:
“The fact of knowing something; knowledge or understanding of a truth. It is a particular discipline or branch of learning, especially one dealing with measurable or systematic principles rather than intuition or natural ability.”
Engineering:
Engineering is said to be:
“The application of science to the needs of humanity.” In other words, “The profession in which a knowledge of the mathematical and natural sciences gained by study, experience, and practice is applied with judgment to develop ways to use economically the materials and forces of nature for the benefit of mankind.”
Science and engineering are related to each other. Let see how scientists and engineers choose their objectives. A scientist thinks what is not yet thought or understood, and studies it. An engineer focuses on what is already understood, and modifies it. The knowledge of scientists provides an essential guide, and engineering efforts will raise questions that describe and explain further scientific study.
Science initializes with a physical system and seeks to develop a descriptive model whereas engineering initializes with a descriptive model or engineering design and seeks to develop a physical system. In this way, they are interlinked with each other.
Searching everywhere for definite constructive and destructive ideas could make a person to think that there should be a profession to innovate, initiate and invent a program or something like that to troubleshoot the problems of the society and to make the life easier. After thinking on this, a person may lead to a profession called “Engineering”. Possibly engineering could be the most difficult professional degree that a person could not get by doing simple courses or perform some practicals but, it is the name of creativity, to develop new ideas or modify them. Sorting out the right idea at the right time is the task of an engineer for which he is going to be paid.
Engineering is the solution of various problems which make things more efficient, quick and less expensive. It makes our life much easier and comfortable.

Qualities of an Engineer:
To be a successful engineer, one must have problem solving skills. He must be able to find out where the problem starts from. What are the reasons of the problem and quickly develop a solution. He must has a great amount of technical knowledge. He should understand a variety of computer programs and other systems that are commonly used during an engineering project.
A great engineer must be a creative person and can think of new and innovative ways to develop or modify new systems. He should also possesses excellent math skills because engineering also includes complex calculations of varying difficulty. Another quality of a good engineer is that he must have great communication skills. He should also communicates well with clients and other engineers working together on a project.
